To pass the time we did manage to take a family photo for our Christmas cards. Sydney wasn't too happy but at least we can see her face. These days have been trying for her. I feel for her, away from home, cooped up most of the time with Mommy constantly nursing a new baby brother under a blanket, unable to provide the constant undivided attention her two year heart craves. What a difficult adjustment! Then comes the acting up, coupled with sickness... It's just hard. However, a sweet woman in my ward back home spotted me flustered to the point of tears last month (wrestling a two year old, nearly a week overdue in pregnancy) and held me for a minute reminding me, "This too shall pass." Wish I could communicate the same to Sydney... This too shall pass, Syd... I just pray, to know how to help/handle/cope with her raving fits and seemingly endless (patience demanding) whining... Life is fun, Mommies & Daddies, isn't it? But I do feel for the kids. We're just figuring out what the heck we're doing here!
There are my thoughts as of late... Thanks for letting me vent, blog. :) Merry Christmas everyone! I'm more and more feeling the strength to focus on the blessings I enjoy, whether they be past, present or those I find hope for in the future... Bless us all, I pray! I love the picture, even if Syd does look grumpy :) it's still cute! Drew is getting so big- it's amazing how fast he's grown! We've seen you what once in the past 2 weeks?? I was starting to think you guys are back in TX already,too :) J/K! We know you're busy- at least we'll get to see you Saturday... YAY!!
Wow! What a great visit. Must be nice to be able to stay that long! (And hard at the same time, too!) It was so great seeing you in church today. Your kids are adorable! Merry Christmas!

oh, i love you! and miss you... sorry phone tag has not found a winner yet... i've been thinking of you a lot & hoping you are enjoying more mild weather. :) we'll be in AZ next Sunday, so tell Syd she can come play with Sophs if she wants {I realize this may not be all that enticing to her! getting pushed over and having toys yanked from your hands may not be on my top 10 list either}... regardless, we would love to see you!!! i'll try you again this week, and will hopefully see you next week. loves! enjoy this magical time! how often do you get a newborn (relatively) at Christmas time?!!!

So sorry to hear you guys have been fighting colds, toddler tantrums, etc. I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL! Minus the new baby part. :) We have struggled the past couple of weeks too. But...THIS TOO SHALL PASS! First of all, I'm jealous that you went home for Christmas. Second, I feel your pain. Savannah is totally acting out since Grant has been in our house. Now she's starting to pee-pee in her panties. I try really hard not to be too hard on her, but it's frustrating!
Happy New Year! Just want to dispel any guilt you may have for having a baby and ruining Sydney's life...Charlotte has had many moments, (or hours) of acting like some kind of addict...Shouting "I WANT ______" as if it her existance depends on getting whatever it is. Also experiencing embarrassment when we call attention to her new emotions, very sensitive. She pretty much rules our house at the moment, so just wanted to reassure you...I simply affirm what she is trying to say or how she feels, that usually helps...but time and growing up into a three year old are undoubtedly the solution:) Love to you and your familyxxx
